AUDITION INFORMATION:
Saturday, April 9, 2022
10 am - 2 pm
You may come at any time during the audition window, no need to sign up
Location: An Other Theater Company venue in the Provo Towne Centre Mall, Suite 2008 (on the 2nd floor)
Callbacks, by invitation, will be Sunday, April 10 at 1:00pm
Actors will be paid a small per-performance stipend for this production.
NOTE: Covid-19 Vaccination is required for all members of the production, including actors. Masks will be worn at all times during auditions, callbacks, and rehearsals. Depending on Covid-19 rates at the time, actors may be masked during performances as well. Audience members will be required to be masked and vaccinated.
Actors who identify as LGBTQ+ and BIPOC, and actors with all physical abilities are encouraged to audition.
Auditioners will be asked to read from a provided side from the script or they can perform a prepared 1.5 minute monologue if they prefer

Production Dates:
Rehearsals:
April 25 through June 2; Monday through Thursday 6pm to 9pm, and Saturdays 10am to 1pm. (Excluding May 28th, May 30th)
Technical Rehearsals:
June 6 through June 9; Monday through Thursday 6pm to 10:30pm
Performances:
June 10 - July 1; Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm plus Thursday June 30th at 7:30pm and Sundays June 19 and June 26 at 4:00pm.

NED WEEKS
Masculine presenting, age 30 - 50
A gay writer and activist. Determined to discuss and fight the AIDS epidemic. Both difficult and charming.
DR EMMA BROOKNER
Feminine presenting, age 28 - 45
A fiercely independent doctor and researcher willing to treat HIV/AIDS. A survivor of polio. Uses a wheelchair.
FELIX TURNER
Masculine presenting, age 25 - 45
New York Times writer and Ned's lover. Mischievous and smart. His health declines as a result of an HIV positive diagnosis.
BEN WEEKS
Masculine presenting, age 30 - 50
Ned's straight (and homophobic) conservative lawyer brother. Successful. Loves his younger brother.
MICKEY MARCUS
Masculine presenting, age 25 - 55
A gay activist. Strong sense of humor. Eloquent, deep-feeling, a little frightened.
BRUCE NILES
Masculine presenting, age 30 - 50
Friend of Ned's and the reluctant leader of the activist group. Good-looking, charismatic. Cautious
TOMMY BOATWRIGHT
Masculine presenting, age 20 - 45
A member of the gay activist group. Sassy, funny, caring. Enthusiastic and diplomatic. Southerner with a heart of gold.
CRAIG DONNER
Masculine presenting, age 25 - 45
A member of the activist group. Friendly, compassionate. (Will also play "Grady" and an Examining Doctor.)
HIRAM KEEBLER
Masculine presenting, age 25 - 45
City Hall official. Brittle. Likely closeted. (Will also play "David" and an Examining Doctor.)
